About the Role

You will plan and manage open-cut or underground mining operations, develop short- and long-term mine plans, optimise extraction processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead safety management initiatives. You will work on a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) or residential basis, depending on the site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering
  • 5+ years of mine planning or operations experience
  • Experience with mine planning software (Surpac, Vulcan, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of mining safety regulations
  • Shift work and FIFO roster flexibility

Compensation & Benefits

BHP’s $130,000 AUD salary is supplemented by a generous bonus programme, superannuation above the legal minimum, FIFO transport and accommodation (fully paid), private health insurance, and share plan access. Total remuneration packages often exceed $160,000 AUD.
